We love seeing a plan come together. Being involved with a major project and assisting a customer in decisions surrounding handmade ironwork and interior lighting is always a pleasure so when we were contacted by one of the team at Channel 4 to see if we could assist with a TV show to do just this, how could we refuse.  Mr George Clarke is synonymous with fantastic design and build projects and this former school conversion in Northamptonshire was up there with one of the best.

Show Success

July was an incredible month for many of us in the UK with some fine Summer weather. The team here at Nigel Tyas spent a week in Harrogate attending and exhibiting our handmade ironwork at The 163rd Great Yorkshire Show. Thankfully this took place just before our unprecedented heatwave and the team had a very warm but still manageable few days meeting and chatting with customers new and old as well as the odd celebrity (see photos below)

Gods' own county they say and we tend to agree. Yorkshire is a fabulous place. Most of Team Tyas are born and bred here and our roots firmly planted in this wonderful rural town north of Sheffield. The Pennine hills on our doorstep, The Peak District National Park less than a bike ride away, it’s a magnificent place to be and we are very lucky to have a manufacturing base here. So why not plan a visit and see for yourself. We’ve been working with Yorkshire Premium Cottages for several years now and are very proud to support the latest developments in their restoration and refurbishment program of some beautiful heritage properties nearby.

Nigel Tyas Ironwork Collaborating With Sheffield Hallam University

Nigel Tyas Ironwork are thrilled to participate in the 2022 CoLAB design project at Sheffield Hallam University. The project allows a mix of Product Design and Interior Architecture undergrad students to work in small groups to deliver a fast paced/short deadline project for a real commercial customer. We sit alongside other local businesses or companies with Sheffield outlets including IKEA and from a briefing last Monday the students have until next Friday to deliver the outcome.

We are very proud of our roots as a UK based manufacturer using highly skilled people across our complete business. In recognition of this, we have been approved as a member of the ‘Made in Britain’ scheme and as such are able to use the Made In Britain mark.

January is usually a slow month with the post festive lull but we’ve had a flurry of requests for our Hartcliff chandeliers so it was all hands on and a fantastic team effort to pull together all the elements and get our orders ready to ship. As with all our products everything is handmade from scratch here in the forge near Penistone. We love making wrought iron chandeliers.
