Looking After Your Lamps Lustre Video Presentation

A short video describing how to clean and maintain your handmade Nigel Tyas products. In the video we feature our Whitby table lamp in natural black finish, which is a traditional waxed finish. Daniel Lowe from Nigel Tyas Ironworks presents the video, which is just over 3 minutes in duration.

Welcome to our first video talking about the sustainability of products and the fact that we think our products are a lifetime product. If you can look after them they will last you a lifetime and be something that you can pass on to loved ones and it could be a bit of a sort after item for your home. We take pride in making these products and we want them to last.

Just looking at a lamp today this is our whitby table lamp in our wax finish with a silk shade. The actual shades are handmade over in Cheshire and a lot of pride, time and effort goes into making these so it's you know we've got to look after these as well. With it being silk it is just a case of giving a regular dusting and making sure that you do not get marks across the material. Treat it as you would do a silk shirt or a piece of fabric that you may wear. Give it a light vacuum using one of the gentle soft attachments that has the little brushes. The main thing is to keep the shade dust free. The actual metal buffing process is detailed in the video which we hope you enjoy watching.
