Push-fit finials now standard across our curtain pole range
Posted by Gareth Lowe - 10 March 2021
With no need for tools - our new design of push-fit finials enable customers to fix our handmade decorative finials to our made-to-measure curtain poles with ease.

Our push-fit finials allow customers to fit their chosen finial firmly on to their traditional wrought iron pole without the need for tools or fiddly grub screws. Our blacksmiths have made the new finials with long shafts which are shaped to fit snugly into the end of your poles and are secured in place by two rubber rings. Both pole and finial are made to be a perfect match for each other in our 16mm, 22mm and 32mm diameter options.

Nigel introduced this development before his retirement and it has been perfected by the workshop team. We’ve tested out the fitting and found it meets our high standards for this quality product. Many customers have also been using push fits finials for a while now and feedback has been good. As before, we recommend fitting your finials to your pole before putting it up on the wall. Doing this on a flat surface is also a good idea especially if you have chosen designs such as our curl or shepherd’s crook and want to get two finials in-line with each other on the pole.

With our more elaborate finials, such as the Ringlet and Rattail, make sure these ‘handed’ designs are on the right ends for you and both facing forwards. Please, take care to add your finials in the right position first time if you can. It is entirely possible to take the finials out if you need to, but they are a good tight fit – so will need a good pull! Long curtain poles above 2.2 metres which are made in two pieces and need joining in the middle are also now joined together with a simple push-fit central spigot.

There are a couple of exceptions to the push-fit finial rule and these are made clear in product listings. But our default finial fitting is now push-fit. We hope you find our new finials easier-to-handle and more convenient. Same beautiful handmade ironwork – quicker, quality assembly. *All photographs in this blog are made-to-measure poles with push-fit finials. Please ignore any grub screw holes and Allen keys shown in other pictures of finials, poles and curtain pole packs on our website, as we work on updating photography.
