Inspiration and ideas from our forge at Bullhouse Mill ...
Customer Reviews and Testimonials
Everything we do at Nigel Tyas Ironwork is inspired by our love of traditional ironworking skills which date back centuries; and our commitment to keeping these alive in the UK.
We employ ancient tools and techniques, with a little modern technology, to create beautiful lights, curtain poles and other products for your home.
Our rural forge is at the heart of our business and is surrounded by the southern hills of the Pennines, just above Sheffield and on the edge of the Peak District. It’s an inspiring setting for our workshop and most of our designs are named after the villages and places within this landscape.
Nigel’s designs draw on historic, rustic, romantic and industrial influences and have inspired a wide range of designs as much at home in period properties such as cottages, castles and country manors as they are in elegant town houses, apartments, warehouse and barn conversions or any family home. You can learn more about a few of his unique designs in this section and see how they translate across a collection of products.
As well as delivering authentic, high quality products, we are dedicated to providing excellent customer service and we love to hear back from our customers about how they have incorporated our lights, curtain poles, fire irons and homewares into their homes.

Nigel Tyas Ironwork also has some inspiring friends. Our company’s co-director Elizabeth Stocker loves to celebrate the wealth of arts and crafts talent we have around us and has established an initiative called ‘Our Friends in the North’ to profile the artists, ceramicists, sculptors and craftspeople who work alongside us in Yorkshire and beyond.
