Maythorne Hand-Forged Wrought Iron Pendant Light
Handmade to order in our Suffolk forge, the Maythorne pendant is a sculptural wrought iron light formed from three elegant twisted tendrils. Forged and shaped by hand around the light source, its flowing form creates an eye-catching pendant that looks equally striking on its own or grouped above a kitchen island or dining table.

The smaller of the two Maythorne pendant lights, this design brings the distinctive character of the Maythorne family to a more compact scale. Three strands of forged iron sweep and twist around the bulb, creating a delicate but sculptural silhouette.
Each tendril is heated, drawn and twisted by the blacksmith before being formed into its flowing shape. The result is a pendant with movement and texture, where the craftsmanship remains visible from every angle.
The Maythorne is deliberately designed to work beautifully with an exposed filament bulb. Rather than hiding the light source behind a shade, the forged iron frames it, allowing the glow of the bulb and the intricate ironwork to become part of the design.
Because each pendant is individually forged, there will be subtle variations in the shape and character of the tendrils. These differences are part of what makes hand-forged ironwork special — each Maythorne is made by a blacksmith rather than produced as an identical manufactured fitting.
Used alone, the Maythorne makes an elegant focal point over a table, in a hallway or within a living space. Group three or more together and the individual forms create a more dramatic installation, making it particularly effective over kitchen islands and dining tables.
The braided cable is available in a choice of black or elephant grey twisted fabric cable allowing the pendant to be tailored to its surroundings.
