From the forge to your home

There is something different about a light that has been made rather than manufactured.
At the forge, steel is heated, shaped and worked by hand. The marks left by the blacksmith are part of the finished piece, giving each light subtle variations and a sense of individuality.

Nigel Tyas has a long history of creating distinctive wrought iron lighting in Britain. The original designs were developed from a love of good proportion, natural materials and traditional blacksmithing, and many have become recognised Nigel Tyas classics.
Today, those designs continue their story in our Suffolk forge, where they are made by skilled blacksmiths using traditional techniques alongside modern electrical workshop skills.
The result is lighting that feels at home in both characterful period properties and carefully considered contemporary interiors.

One forge, two British brands

Behind every Nigel Tyas light is a working blacksmith's forge in rural Suffolk. It is also home to Made by the Forge, where a new generation of ironwork is created using many of the same traditional skills.
