Once a year, in spring, we bring together the number of orders placed over the previous year and turn them into something living - trees planted in the British countryside.

And we don't plant them alone.

Nigel Tyas and Made by the Forge share the same Suffolk forge, the same belief in keeping the craft of blacksmithing alive and, now, the same commitment to planting trees.

The trees funded by our customers' orders are planted together, creating something that grows alongside the craft we make here in Suffolk.

It's our way of giving something back.

There is something rather lovely about that.

The light or piece of ironwork you choose will hopefully become part of your home for generations. The tree planted because of your order will have its own story to tell; growing year after year and becoming part of the countryside around it. And as it grows, it will become much more than a tree it will become a home for wildlife.

Trees and hedgerows provide vital food, shelter and nesting places for birds, insects and other wildlife. They create habitats where nature can thrive, helping to support a richer and more diverse countryside.

A young tree may start small, but over time it can become part of an entire living ecosystem, providing blossom and berries, shelter from the elements and places for wildlife to feed, nest and flourish.
