Nigel Tyas 16mm Cottage Curtain Poles are traditionally handcrafted using time-honoured blacksmithing techniques to create an authentic rustic finish full of character and charm. Each pole is individually made from solid metal and hand forged to achieve the distinctive textured appearance that makes cottage-style interiors feel warm, inviting and timeless.

Designed for traditional homes, country cottages and period properties, these 16mm curtain poles combine classic styling with durable construction. Their slimmer profile makes them ideal for lighter curtains while still offering the strength and quality expected from solid wrought iron.

Made to measure in our Suffolk workshop, every curtain pole is carefully crafted to order and available with a choice of five handcrafted finial styles to complement your décor. Finished by hand and built to last, our cottage poles celebrate traditional British craftsmanship while bringing understated elegance to your windows.

Choose the finish you want and the design of finial you would like to complete your 16mm diameter solid cottage curtain pole.

16mm diameter cottage pole finial designs include Button, Forged Ball, Smooth Sphere, Curl and Shepherd’s Crook.

Solid cottage poles with Button, Forged Ball or Smooth Sphere finials have one finial forged as part of the wrought iron pole, while the other is removable to allow for sliding on curtain rings.

Take care to EXCLUDE the length of the finials you’ve chosen when measuring for your cottage curtain pole. See our useful Measuring Guide to help with this task.

Once you have chosen your pole thickness, finish and finials – and measured for length - please go to our Brackets section and Curtain Rings & Hooks section to choose the fittings you need.

Your 16mm diameter solid cottage curtain pole will then be handmade to order by our skilled blacksmiths. Please allow a little time for this piece of beautiful bespoke ironwork!
