Nigel Tyas 12mm Cottage Curtain Poles are individually handcrafted using traditional blacksmithing methods to create an authentic hand forged finish rich in character and heritage appeal. Made from solid steel, each pole is carefully forged by hand in our Suffolk workshop, resulting in subtle hammer marks, natural texture and the distinctive rustic detailing that makes every piece unique.

The slimmer 12mm diameter gives these cottage poles a delicate, understated look that is perfectly suited to smaller windows, cottages, period homes and country-inspired interiors. Their solid steel construction offers excellent durability while maintaining the charming proportions expected of traditional cottage ironwork.

Every pole is made to measure and finished by hand, allowing you to create a bespoke window furnishing that fits beautifully and lasts for years to come. Available with a choice of five handcrafted finial styles, these curtain poles combine timeless design with authentic British craftsmanship.

Choose the finish you want and the design of finial you would like to complete your 12mm diameter solid cottage curtain pole.

12mm diameter cottage pole finial designs include Button, Forged Ball, Smooth Sphere, Curl and Shepherd’s Crook.

Solid cottage poles with Button, Forged Ball or Smooth Sphere finials have one finial forged as part of the wrought iron pole, while the other is removable to allow for sliding on curtain rings.

Take care to EXCLUDE the length of the finials you’ve chosen when measuring for your cottage curtain pole. See our useful Measuring Guide to help with this task.

Once you have chosen your pole thickness, finish and finials – and measured for length - please go to our Brackets section and Curtain Rings & Hooks section to choose the fittings you need.

Your 12mm diameter solid cottage curtain pole will then be handmade to order by our skilled blacksmiths. Please allow a little time for this piece of beautiful bespoke ironwork!
