The sconse or wall light

The sconse as we know it today has evolved from the decorative wall fixtured originally designed to hold candles, used to light corridors and hallways whilst keeping the flame away from the ceiling and wall. Today the electric equivalent wall lights are still used to provide both light and interest, traditionally crafted from wrought iron to add character to your favourite spaces. Often installed in pairs to provide accent lighting and balance, framing doorways for example. While 'sconse' is a less well known term, it is often used interchangeably with 'wall light', however, sconces tend to be more decorative.
