Nigel has been working on some new designs in the forge recently and we thought it important to let you know that whilst our traditional designs do look, well – traditional – they are modern in that they can all be used with LED light bulbs.

1. LEDs will save you electricity
Energy efficient lighting – LED light bulbs operate at around 80% efficiency, compared to standard bulbs that are only 20% efficient. These huge power savings lead to massive reductions in your electricity bills.

2. Much longer bulb life
LED light bulbs have a much longer life span compared to standard halogen bulbs – they can last up to 20 years. When you install new LED lights you may never have to replace the bulbs again.

3. They can be recycled
Eco-friendly light bulbs – unlike some CFL and halogen bulbs, LED bulbs contain no harmful substances like Mercury. This means they are far safer to use around the home and can be recycled without damaging the environment.

4. Low temperature operation
LED lights work at a much lower temperature than halogen bulbs, converting most of the energy into light and drastically reducing the risk of fire.

5. Increased durability
LED bulbs have no fragile internal components like filaments or tubes that are prone to failure, making them more stable than other types of lighting and are resistant to heat, cold and vibration.
