Nigel Tyas manufacture an excellent range of wall lighting for traditional settings within your home or living space. We offer single wall lights and double wall lights in various designs that incorporate a handforged iron backplate suitable for fixing to both brick and plasterboard walls. A wide range of dimensions and styles are available.

All wrought iron wall lights can be finished in black wax, burnished steel, light burnished steel & matt black paint.

Candle tubes are included in the price and, for each design, can match the finishes stated above or be finished in a classic ivory. If you find it difficult to choose the colour for the candle tubes, we can always swap them over if you change your mind once you receive your order.

Most of our standard wall light designs take a standard small bayonet fitting candle bulb (B15). All are rated to take a 60w bulb when used without shades and can also be used with low energy bulbs. If you decide to use shades with your wall lights, you must observe the shade rating - all of our candle shades are rated for a 40w candle bulb which is standard for small shades.

All of our single and double wall lights are compatable with the latest energy efficient bulbs which we strongly recommend as an alternative to less efficient light bulbs. We sell low energy candle bulbs at very competitive prices at 7w, 9w and 11w. Please ask for more information.

Our wrought iron picture lights are available in various designs and come supplied with a strip bulb.

All of our wrought iron ceiling lights are made to order and can often be adapted in size particularly if you have space restrictions. The standard Hartcliff light comes in a three arm design and a five arm design and can be supplied with matching or ivory candle tubes. Each style can be used with or without candle shades.

The number of arms and size of the lights can be increased to your requirements - our eight light version is very popular and we can also modify the light fitting to take two tiers of lights as with the larger chandeliers.

Our Langsett wrought iron lanterns are available in a one, two or four light version and can be supplied with a chain as required for fitting. A range of finshes are offered to suit your personal tastes and each can be supplied with matching or ivory candle tubes.

All of our stunning wrought iron chandeliers are handmade to order. Three styles of chandelier are available - Midhope, Shepherds crook and Hartcliff and all can be modified to suit your specific requirements.

The Midhope chandelier is designed to complement the Midhope range of wall lights and comes in 3 standard sizes but can be made to your own specifications as required. As standard we offer a three light, five light and eight light version. All wrought iron Midhope chandeliers are supplied with a forged ceiling rose fixing and chain as required. Full fitting instructions are also supplied. All of our stunning wrought iron chandeliers are handmade to order. The Shepherds crook chandelier again complements our wall light range and comes in 2 standard sizes but can be made to your own specifications as required. Our most stunning designs for a larger living space are the Hartcliff 12 and 18 light chandeliers which can be made up to 1500mm in diameter although scaled down versions are available for smaller spaces. The larger chandeliers can be made with lights on one or two tiers and all are supplied with a forged ceiling rose fixing and chain as required. We understand that the fixing of a large chandelier can be less straight forward than for a standard ceiling fitting and we offer a specialist service for making the ceiling fitting to suit your specific requirements.

Two types of design are handmade to order. Our iron table lamps and standard lamps can be altered to suit your requirements. Matching shades are available - please let us know and we can advise you to ensure that you purchase the best combination for your living space. We can add shades to your order or supply independently.

This sumptuous range combines exquisite handblown glass and sinuous freeflowing ironwork to create each exclusive lamp. Each piece of craftsman made glass is complemented with some of our most stunning and freely formed metalwork.

Unlit, these lamps are stunning examples of fine design and crafted skill. Lit, their jewel colours and lustre reveal their inner beauty and create a totally individual luminescence to grace your room.

The handblown glass comes in an array of rich colours overlaid with silver leaf. Aqua tones reflect the swirling tones of the sea, whilst green and amber hint at green-tinged autumn woodland. The reds offer a luxurious ruby hue - or choose topaz for a mellow, golden glow. For a completely different contemporary feel, choose blacks for a striking, silvered radiance.

Whichever colourway you choose, your lamp will be entirely unique.

In response to various requests by our customers, we are pleased to introduce our brand new range of handmade wrought iron electrical switches and sockets. As with all of our wrought iron products, these are all individually handforged in our own workshop.

Our aim is to provide a wide selection of beautiful handforged switches and sockets to complement our range of traditional lighting and curtain poles etc. As we are frequently told by our customers, it is a pity to use cheap mass produced electrical fittings in a home that has been lovingly and authentically restored - we hope to fill that gap with our handmade wrought iron switches and sockets.

Each plate is cut and individually hot forged to add texture, coated to protect the metal finish and then assembled using the highest quality Crabtree electrical fittings which comply with all required British Standards for safety.

All of our flush fitting wrought iron electrical sockets are suitable for use with 35mm deep metal back boxes and the wrought iron light switches with 25mm deep boxes. You will also need to ensure that the back box is mounted 5mm below the wall surface. Our standard fittings are not currently suitable for use with dry-lining boxes but we have developed an alternative solution which allows the plate to stand off the wall slightly and gets around this problem. These provide a luxurious alternative to the popular cream parchment, cream crackle and ivory diamante shades that have become classic favourites over the last few years.

Our aim is to provide a wide selection of high quality shades to complement our range of traditional wrought iron lighting. Each shade is manufactured to the highest standards using quality materials and fabrics specially selected to blend with both traditional and contemporary surroundings and complying with all relevant safety standards.

All of our candle shades have a simple clip fitting for use with candle bulbs and are rated for use with a maximum bulb size of 40w.
