Standard portieres
Our standard wall-mounted portiere is operated manually and has a single, hinged bracket mounted at the side of the door frame or on an adjacent wall. On longer portieres, or if your curtain is very heavy, we can supply a special portiere support bracket to give additional support when the pole is in its open or closed position.
Self-closing portieres
The self-closing portiere has a hinge assembly and a support bracket which attaches directly to the door allowing the curtain to move with the door. The main hinge can be mounted on the wall at the side of the door, onto an adjacent wall or onto the door frame itself.
Portiere pairs
For dormer or deeply recessed windows. instead of a standard curtain pole, you could consider using a pair of small portieres. These make an ideal solution for particularly small windows, enabling you to pull the curtains away from the window and maximise the amount of available light.
For an obligation free quotation just tell us the overall width of the recess, your preferred choice of finial and whether you would like the finials to overlap slightly in the centre and we will be pleased to advise.
Special portieres
All of our portieres are made to measure and we understand that there are some situations that will need something non-standard. We'll always do our best to help. It often helps enormously if you are able to email an image of your doorway and then we can discuss the options with you.
In certain circumstances we can also scale up the proportions of the portiere and use a 16mm diameter pole for the self-closing portiere and 22mm diameter pole for a standard portiere. Please contact us for more information.
